for some rather prominent one's have suggested that matter can be compressed into the unifird field inside the singularity of a supermassive black hole- the unified field is massless except for its energy equivalent, and the singularity is not really singularity- its just a means to define a location- and baby universes can theoretically spring from such singularities. No way to know for sure if any of this happens. Ohh. Smolin is the leader of the group of physicists that make such suggestions.
