Yes, the Holy Spirit does guide me, but sometimes I don't listen too well. That's why no one should rely upon any man for truth. Every Christian believer endwelt with the Holy Spirit should rely upon the Him to discern truth.

I hope to provide what knowledge I can that is good. I don't always succeed, so prove all things and hold fast that which is good.

If you come to believe the New Testatment, this might make more sense to you, but only God can lead you to that belief.

Does it "ALL" really contradict what you believe ?
