Why No ETHER?

Richard,
As long as you keep blowing my mind I'll keep picking your brain!

When the positron and electron are created, and then fly off, are we SURE the remaining 6D "still play a role"? I realize each half of the p&e pair appears to "know" what the other is doing, but why are there no other explanations than to contrive a relation BACK to the remaining 6 dimensions?

Are we so averse to anything even remotely resembling the old "ether" as to completely dismiss the fact that the explanation of an apparent p & e correlation would be MUCH more simple explanation if there WERE some sort of omnipresent ether involved?
