Hello Rob,

I think everything is (at least) 4-dimensional, so "massive bodies that create a 4-dimensional depression in the space time continuum" were 4-dimensional already. But because they're not expanding at the rate of mostly everything else around them they seem to create a "depression."

I don't believe in a universal macro-time, or as some call it the ether. I believe that there is an average of relative ("micro") times. In retrospect data canm be avg'ed out to reflect a median rate of time, but there is no ether, in my opinion.
