Spin Casting Mirrors?

I have heard many different views about using epoxy resins for spin casting mirrors. I tend to be skeptical about how good the surface would turn out. I know that glass has been spun inside a huge kiln and worked, but how about plastic? Can it be aluminzed? if so which types of polymers could be used? Any info on the subject would be appreciated.
