: I just cut the channels in my lap this morning, and I want to cold press it (the reason I'm not hot pressing is that I covered my mirror with aluminum foil, pouring the pitch on the mirror so it will be the same as the face). I tried using the seperating fluid mentioned in Richard Berry's "How to make a telescope", it is a thick blend off cerium, water, and cerium. this dries out quick and will lock up. thankyou You can also use cling wrap (the thin plastic material used to cover left over food. This is better than AL foil.Use soapy water aswell. The wrap can also be used when first casting the lap.Just be sure there are no holes in it. Ric |
