Sorry to be so late on this one, have been out sick. :-( However, I highly recomend the book "The Dobsonian Telescope" - available as one of the choices in Robert's suggestion. If you're going for A Dob, GET THIS BOOK! Can also order from one of the authors, do a search for Obsession Telescopes - don't remember their address. (It's probably on one of my pages, which I list in case they help at all..) Have fun!
