People have made reflectors from stranger stuff. A 1-in-20 mirror is thin but not undoable. Try it. It will be light and easy to handle. The problem is mounting it. The curved back and thin mirror will require a many point mounting to be made. Don't use the metal ring on it as it will definatly make the mirror flex! Have fun with the project. You might also consider using a tile tool for grinding but you will want to preform the tiles on another tube face.
