Hi Tom, I own this scope since early 1997. I guess it is the best 4"-refractor, you can get for this little money You should not use it as a high power planatary scope, because colour correction is not as good as with true apo`s. I use a 7 mm EP (85x)and it shows no false colour. With a 4 mm EP, false colour begins to appear. It is a very pleasing scope to "walk" through the milky way. For example: with a 40 mm EP ( 2" Erfle from Baader, Germany) you get about 4,5° field of view. The lens is designed to be used with 120 mm BK7 in front of the EP. You should use a 2"-prism or a bino.
