| Polystyrene Gears

Has anyone had any luck making polystyrene gears has described in Sky & Telescope, May 1992 but on a larger scale? I'm putting together an 8 inch reflector with a horseshoe mounting. I'll either use the geared styrene to make a drive gear to run a roller which drives the disk or put it on the disk and drive directly. Any input appreciated.
