Don't worry! Just put the tool on top and run the normal W stroke to open up the radius. Remember that whichever item is on top goes towards concave. You didn't say how far the ground part is from the edge. If it's about 1/2" or less you're almost there. My prefered way to do rough grinding is to get about 90% of the sag. and then finish up with the finer grits. This way the mirror tends to stay on the top. You'll just have to spend more time with the tool on top to stay with the radius that you want. It's no biggie. One of the guys in the group is doing a 6" and got it down to 26"fl from the 30" that he wanted. Just had to stay grinding longer than he needed to. All you did was go a bit deeper than you really wanted to do and the solution is to put the tool on top. |
