: : Anybody out there looking for a mirror blank? -I have a mirror that was used for Impulse laser columnation and has a focal length of about 29.5 feet !! Obviously it needs to be ground down to a MUCH lower focal length ! I thought grinding on the back would make the most sense - Its a 12" inch diameter - 2 inch thick mirror made of 7740 Pyrex . The coating has alot of scratches but unless you want to build a 30 foot tall telescope , the coating is a "Moot" point. If you want it ,Lemme know what you think its worth! :0)

Does this mirror have a smooth figure? If the glass itself isn't scratched, it could be recoated and used with a uranostat-type flat to make the ultimate solar scope (like Russel W. Porter's "100-foot" scope). Please let me know. Thanks.
