Josh, I did not use pvc, I met a guy at a star party who made one and he said the tube would bend slightly and could not focus properly,but pvc makes great finder scopes up to 80mm f5, I used 5" 14 guage alu. irrigation pipe it has an ID of 4 7/8" its very strong and light and easy to work with...Bob.
