I am looking foward on building a Ritchey-Chretien telescope, and it's my first time making one. There's no way I'm going to build a newtonian. Too large for my apartment and I'm really looking for a coma free system. It's either a classical cassegranian, a schmidt, or ritchey chretien. Have anyone had an experience building one of these. If so, please give me some advise for the suitable size for a first time builder. Would it be a lot harder to make a 10" then a 6" telescope? Do I need to take any machining classes? Or what are the approximate expences on the materials.
