Disassemble the front of the telescope, marking everything with a marker so that you can put it back together in the same position. Also keep track of the order of the various parts. Drawings of everything is the best way to go. Use a disinfectant/antifungal type of liquid soap and very gently wash the surfaces (including the tube)and let the nonoptical surfaces dry throughly. The optical surfaces need to be gently wiped dry. DO NOT USE ANYTHING ABRASIVE ON OPTICAL SURFACES!!!! Optical surfaces have shapes measured in small fractions of the wavelength of light so any abrasive will destroy the proper shape of the surface. After you have done this, you may want to get some dessicant and tape it to the side of the scope on the inside to control the water on the inside of the scope. If you do the dessicant, get an UV filter and screw it to the back of the scope as a vapor barrier. Good luck and have fun.
