Eric:

Try "tweeking" the collimation of your scope at night using that distorted star as your guide. Slowly adjust your mirror and check the slightly out of focus star image. As you round out the image switch to higher power and "tweek" it some more. When the image remains round as you focus it down at high power, you should be set. Its a good idea to do this tweek each time you start your observing evening.
