Hello all!

I am a new ATM and am in the process of grinding my first mirror. I have somehow (probably while putting a new chamfer on the edge) made a nice chip in the edge of the tool. Approx 1/4 inch circle and probably 1/32 deep.

Am I in great danger of putting large scratches in the mirror as I proceed to smaller grits or am I ok?

The pit seems to fill in quickly with each new wet and doesn't seem to be scratching the surface. I have been checking every few wet's under 1025x magnification and have not found any scratches.

I found the chip on the side of the tool right away and threw it away, also washing the mirror and tool thoroughly.

If anyone who has experience with this would like to give me some advice that would be awesome!
