Glass Epoxy?

I am aware of some optical glues but none called glass epoxy other than a winndow glass repair item. I would think the idea of gluing anything directly to the CCD would be ill advised but if you do Balsam Optical Cement is undoable. I have read of gasketing CCDs many times and did that once but I would never glue one.

I am curious as to what is your source for the electronics. If you are using a gutted camera the chip was never glued was it?

I understand why though and there are sites that show modifing a Rebel by removing the I.R. Window and replacing it with an optical clear one. Just do a web search on rebel eos astronomy modification. My prime focus at f:5 is 110 inches and my Cassegrain focus is 400+ inches and it is surprising what doesn't fit. Any larger chip and I will need a field flattner for prime focus. In fact if anyone has the specs. for one that will cover medium format, let me know.

Best,
Rick
