can anyone help with fitting a window to a superb back-iluminated Site 1024*1024 class 1 ccd chip? I have built a camera housing and used a dummy on cooler and some frost inevitably forms while i eliminate leaks. the chip will be ruined if this happens to it because it has no protective window. its a long story about why i've ended up with this chip, but i really hoped to finish the camera and use it on my 20 inch cassegrain! most affordable cameras may give better dark noise but they are tiny chips and at a focal length of 0ver 5 metres the field of view would just about cover mars. i sketched out using some sort of gloved polythene bag with (hopefully) dry clean air inside and using glass epoxy to stick a square of optical (coated camera filter) glass on the front.anyone have experience of how to do this properly?
