What you didn't mention is that the proxy mom gets to choose how the money is used. One family got nothing, everything was left to the 6 year-old when she turns 18. I guess the family will have to pay income tax now and I wonder if the girl will get the money with interest? Then the other mom weighing about 300lbs will not get her money until she completes a half marathon. This is actually what occured and if you would like my opinion about the show, I will share it off post.
