Well I will try this again but to make it short. It matters if it says Tasco or Celestron. Outwardly they look the same but internally they are not. If it is a Celestron then you are in luck as they are great about service. If it Tasco, Celestron is unlikely able or willing to help. You may have better luck at a small electric motor repair shop.

Tasco took the Celestron and dumbed it down and took short cuts to lower the price while looking like the more expensive Celestron. That is why they went bankrupt when over a million telescopes had the software rom mis-made. If your control paddles were one of the few to work all night without a flaw then check the used market for tasco or celestron mounts. Many tasco mounts were dumped because of the controller.
