I'm working on a 12-1/2" reflector and would like other people's opinion on what to use to get the best surface. Texereau likes rouge on bare pitch, but what does everyone else think? I have rouge, cerium oxide, and even some Barnsite from 35 years ago. All my previous surfaces were done using Barnsite on beeswax coated pitch molded laps, per A.J. Thompson. These have turned out well, so that is the way I'm leaning right now. I look forward to hearing from some other glass-pushers out there. |
