Hello everyone this is my first post.
I have a few of questions regarding a different telescope design that I will be embarking on. I have built a few telescopes before and this one should be a challenge.
I am working on the principle of the Nasmyth design on a 30inch mirror.
My first question is, will a mirror made of plate glass 30mm thick be to thin at f4.5 (f18 with the cassegrain secondary)? It will naturally have a 27 point flotation cell.
The second question, is there any web sites on the making of a telescope with the Nasmyth design?
And the third, does anyone know if there is any place in Australia that coats mirrors of this size?
Your comments will be most appreciated!
Regards Ed.
