Aluminized Mirror Needs Polishing ???

I just got a 16" F/5 mirror, that I sent out to be aluminized, back. I bought this mirror off a friend and I know nothing about miror making and techniques, but the mirror needs polishing!!

I dont really know if this is good business practice, but how will I go about polishing this coat down so it reflects nice. Its very hazy right now, and the guy from the coating shop said that I need to polish it down still.
