The scope not only is a decently good scope for dong imaging with (actually, the bigger the aperure, the better) but also has the ability to do autoguiding with a Meade autoguider camera.
As to cameras, not only are there dedicated CCD cameras but there is a group (QCUIAG - put that in Google and see all of the pages that are dealing with that group) which uses webcams for doing imaging with.
As to the cost of cameras, they are all over the place for many reasons and it is a somewhat difficult thing for somebody else to tell you what you really need as they all address different price/value/quality points. Odds are that you are going to be buying more than one camera over the next few years as you figure out what you really want.
