I need to clean my 10" mirror, as construction of the telescope has mucked it up a bit. I got a spot on it which won't budge when using compressed air.

I've found conflicting advice on whether to use isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol or not. Does alcohol react with the aluminized coating or the protective SiO coating ? I'd rather not deal with acetone, if I can avoid it.

What do you recommend ?

Thanks again.

Dave
