I Was wondering what is the best type of wood for building a dobsonian mount for a 8 inch telescope. I was thinking of using 3/4 inch
Exterior Grade Plywood. Would this be OK. Could I use MDF ( Medium Density Fiber) board. Is 3/4 inch to thick or would you suggeste using 1/2 inch. Also, as regards to the telescope tube, I now alot of people say that Sonotubes are great for making telescope tubes, but I don't know of any suppliers here in good old England, so would PVC tubing be OK. Any advice would be much appreciated.

PS. Does anybody know how good telescope mirrors are from Sky Instruments in Vancover, Canada. I am thinking of purchasing my mirror from them. If anybody knows of any other good ready made mirror suppliers, then please let me know.
