Congratulations on your telescope!, 3" aint much but its actually quite a challenge to figuere,
did you parabolize it or leave it spherical? it can be left spherical and work quite well at that f-ratio by the way, thats what i would have done.
The problem with pvc is the expense,the weight, and there is a limit to the diameters this is available in.
I have a pvc tube which is 10" diameter and 85" length, 1/4" wall thickness, im saving it for a refractor im going to build someday.
Make your next scope a 12 inch. and then 20",
I went from a 4" to a 13" no problem, its actually easier to figuere the larger mirrors just more physically demanding to grind/polish.
