Light Burst From My Eyepiece.

I just completed my first scope... It is a 6"F/8.3 . The problem is my eyepiece seems to be perfect for the moon but stars have a fan of light from one side.

The eyepiece is only a cheap one from an old camcorder and i know this is only a cheap and nasty way to complete the job but was wondering if this may be a problem with my mirror or is realy the fault of the eyepiece.

I was going to grind my mirror to F/6 but was told that a 6" mirror ground to F/8.3 or greater would not need testing.

Is there a set of plans for a faucult tester available?
