Protecting Mirrors.

The original packing for the mirror is quite adequate to protect the mirrors from damage.
If you really want to, make a box to hold the mirror but don't use oak or cedar or other high acidic or aromaic wood for the wood as you will end up with the stuff in the wood on your mirror.
The big thing is to cover the mirror so that things don't fall down on it and damage it nor dust falling on it. You also want to keep the mirrors inside in a nice controlled atmosphere and keep water from condensing on the surfaces from condensation, etc.
