Parabolic Cylinder System - Any Use ?

good evening all!

could anyone please make some critics on parabolic cylinder system shown here:

the drawings seems to be slightly wrong - it's not focusing a light exactly one point.
The wavefront error would be huge and the "image" proportions would be distorted.
But for "very slow" telescopes with large appertures the making of if would be easier - just putting a polished metal sheet on the parabolic guides. So for very "slow" telescopes would there be any use of it ?
