The shorter the FL, the shorter the EP needed to get to a particular magnification. Considering that the approximate max useful magnification of a telescope is about 2x per mm of scope diameter (note that this doesn't include the FL in any way, just the diameter of the objective) this means that the resolution of the two scopes is the same but, as noted before, the eyepiece needed to be able to get to the max resolution is different. If you're interested in high powers, the longer FL of the F6 will allow for an easier job of getting that maximum magnification with EPs that are easier to look through. |
