I'd definitely blacken it [w/ paint or even black felt or velvet below where the eyepieces sit. It might even be worth your while to actually baffle it down there]. Another thing often over looked is what's at the other side, across from your focuser and past your eliptical- in a lot of cases extra blackening there can go a long way to improving your contrast. |
