: I'm building a 8"f/6 Dobsonian reflector with a 10-1/4" : O.D. tube and about a 3" focuser. The way I added it : all up my diagonal should be about 2"dia. could someone : double check this for me?

Check out Mel Bartel's home page. He has an excellent program that you can download called "diagonal.exe" that you run from a DOS prompt. It will calculate everything you need to know about diagonal size for any telescope.

Good luck with your scope!
