Thanks for you help. It's been a few years since my last electronic class but I imagine I can figure it out. That was a good tip about the larger focus knob. I should try that first (and maybe a little WD-40 too!) and see how that works. If that's not a solution, I'll wire be up a little motor. Maybe replace a knob with the little motor and connect it to a hand unit. Anyway, thanks for all yer input. It's invaluable to me.
