A cute toy for playing with. What they are is a CCD video camera in a nice case that fits in the 1.25" focuser.
FWIW, the QCUIAG group (find QCUIAG on the web) has some nice software that can be used to really enhance what the camera can see. They also end up being a regular video camera that is nice for doing things like seeing the results of the Foucault test instead of getting your eye down there near that nasty blade.
