I recently built a 10 inch Newtonian F5 with 2.25 secondary. Mirrors are from Antares. I currently have an Orion 7-21mm zoom and a Vixen LV 2.5mm eyepiece. Both eyepieces are good quality. What should I expect for quality of views. When I use the 2.5mm the view is fuzzy. With the zoom the view isn't too bad until I zoom in (7mm)then it starts to get fairly fuzzy. I could barely make out the stripes of Jupitor with the zoom and couldn't make them out at all with the 2.5mm. Am I expecting too much or is it a collimation issue?
