Thanks Bob,got another one for you then, did test last night, seeing as i am having the same problem polishing out the outer 1 inch zone, as i had first time around... i assumed , and after checking yours and other web pages on foucault testing, verified (i think) that the outer edge is outside the r.o.c., ( ronchi lines curve outward, very slightly toward the edge). this being the case, is the lap on top 1/4 center over center, with maybe a slight side to side motion the right stroke to help remedy this situation, mind you it is coming out, the gray area is not so easy to see on mirror surface this time....i just dont want to cause more problems later on....not worried about the exact focal lenght either, so some change in that is not a problem....maybe i should do center over center every other wet, to keep it all in line......Your opinion would be well noted....
