Quartz Glass For Mirror Blank?

I have a 6" quartz glass blank I am interested in grinding to produce a mirror. The specs I have seen make me think it would have great thermal expansion characteristics but I was wondering how hard it would be to grind. Each side is very flat and parallel-it was a viewport on a evaporator type vacuum coating machine.
