I suspect that you have a turned DOWN edge otherwise the edge should be polishing out early. Check the direction of the hooks there and I think that you will find me right.
This often happens when a large part of the time is spent working on the center and is really rather normal for a large number of mirrors done.
With the tool on top, the largest part of the work will be done on the outside - remember that whichever is on top turns towards the concave direction. Long strokes will tend tho to make the edge turn unless you control the pressure well as the tool will have a tendency to rock if you go more than the 1/3 stroke.
