Chewy and Garok, If you mean to make the glass and everything, that's way too much work! Stargazer Steve makes KITS that you can assemble. If that is not far enough for your project, then get a mirror (don't even consider grinding a mirror unless you must as that is a long project for a kid) from Edmund Scientific which sells nice mirrors for about $67 for a 3" basic parabolic mirror (#A31,400). The rest is all up to you. Stargazer Steve at least provides you with all of the parts and the way to assemble them. Good luck with your project.
