Thanks for the responses. I am also wondering why mirror cells support the mirror with points instead of being a solid surface. And I have noticed that none of the mirror grinding instructions that I have seen online say anything about polishing the back of the mirror. How smooth should the back be? Is there any reason why you wouldn't want it as smooth as the front?
