There was a speaker at my Astronomy club last month talking about collimation. He said you can do it during the day by focusing on the sunlight reflected off a small ball bering at about 50 or 100 ft. It reflects under 1/1000th of the sunlight as a point. Very good to focus on and not dangerous. Maybe you can do the same thing.
