Correcting A Mirror Blank

Hello, I have found a nice piece of glass produced in 1953. It is approximately 2 inches thick, 10 inches OD. My problem, one side is to irregular to allow me to begin grinding. Can anyone tell me how to flatten that side (my guess is machining) to remove approximately .200 inches of thickness. Also, who can I get a custom blank from to use in grinding the mirror. |
