Hello, What about plywood tube? It is vey strong, light, dimensionally stable. It can be waterproofed. It also has a beautiful appearence, it can be made in any real wood veener or laminate.
Is made in 1" to 18" diameter. I can probably supply you with some defective tubes at a very good price. Tubes that have a bad end out of an eight foot section.
