Hello fellow amateur astronomers, Help! Does anyone out there have, or know of anyone who has, a Celestial Navigator II computerized telescope positioning system made for and distributed by Roger Tuthill? I understand it has not been in production for some 6 years now, but I am desperatly seeking help on getting my unit repaired. I purchased mine in 1982, and it has worked fine these last 16 years until last weekend when it blew the 1 amp fuse on power up. I mostly need a schematic diagram so that an electronics technician can troubleshoot the problem. Mr. Tuthill has lost all contact with the subcontractor who designed and built the units for him, and has no way of providing any help, not even the schematic. Since he did not keep records of who bought the units, I have no way of contacting fellow owners. Since my SCT fork was modified for the slewing motors and position encoders, without the computer and with no power, I cannot position using the slewing motors. Manually positioning is practically impossible and definitely frustrating due to the friction of the slip clutches. So if anyone who reads the message knows anything about the subject unit and possible repair of the same, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. I can also be reached via e-mail at my home address: lawrencec@planttel.net Clear skys! |
