: I have just obtained a secondhand mirror. The surface has a very small blemish but is basically sound but dusty. What is the best way of cleaning the dust off the surface ? If you use any kind of detergent, make sure that it is very mild. I once tried a very dilute solution of a strong detergent (used for claning laboratory glassware)to clean a 6" mirror (that had no protective overcoating) and succeded in stripping off most of the aluminum. Fortunately I was able to have it recoated. |
