Jepp and a few other paint and epoxy removers are available.

By the way I am not against deforming the surface temporarily for transient conditions or figuring the optic. I just don`t faith in the permanent bolt warping as used in that case. If I was going to do it that way, I would drill the glass and run the bolt through rather than epoxying it on.

If you feel it works for you great. I think time would be better spent producing the correct figure.
