Hello, I ground a 8" f7 mirror from the BVC Glass from ASM in Quebec. The mirror turned out well and I bought another 6" , 8" and 12.5" blank. The 12.5 " blank was pre-ground. I have not made a mirror from pyrex so I can not comment on the comparison of the two types but I am very happy with the BCV glass from ASM. Go to moonward vacuum coatings web site.

and ask them for an opinion of BCV glass. They have coated many of them and will give you an honest answer.
