Another Thin Mirror Blank Question
Forum List | Follow Ups | Post Message | Back to Thread Topics Posted by Bruce on July 25, 2000 02:44:51 UTC |
I`m another newbie looking to get started grinding as cheaply as possible. I`ve found glass plate locally for a price I can afford, but it`s only 1/2-inch thick. It`s $13 for an 8" square and I`m planning on building a cutter to cut my blank. Is it realistic to grind a mirror from glass this thin? I`m thinking that a 6" f10 would work. How about a 7" f9 or 8" f8? If I do go ahead and grind, should I use a glass or tile/plaster tool?
